How to Schedule Posts on X

Posting at the right time matters, but most people do not want to sit in front of X all day waiting for the perfect moment. If you manage a creator account, brand profile, community page, or even a personal account with a regular posting routine, scheduled posts can save a lot of time.

X provides scheduling for supported standard posts on the web interface. Some post types, including longer posts, may not support scheduling, and the available controls can change.

This guide walks through the basic process and explains how to find your scheduled posts later if you need to edit or remove one.

Before You Start

Make sure you are signed in to the X account where you want the post to appear. If you manage several accounts, double-check the profile before scheduling anything. It is easy to write from the wrong account when switching between tabs or workspaces.

Scheduling is most commonly available from the X web app. The layout may look slightly different depending on your device, screen size, and account interface, but the calendar icon is the key control to look for.

Step 1: Write Your Post

Open X and start a new post the same way you normally would. Add your text first, then attach any image, video, GIF, or link you want to include.

Before scheduling, read the post once more. Scheduled content often goes out when you are not actively watching the account, so it is worth checking names, links, dates, and tone before moving on.

Step 2: Open the Scheduling Menu

Instead of clicking Post, look for the small calendar icon near the posting controls. Click that icon to open the scheduling menu.

If you do not see the calendar icon, try using X in a desktop browser. Some features are easier to find on the web interface than inside mobile layouts.

Step 3: Choose the Date and Time

The scheduling menu lets you choose when the post should be published. Pick the month, day, year, and time that fit your plan.

If your audience is spread across different countries, think about their time zone, not only your own. For example, a morning post in your location may appear late at night for the people you are trying to reach.

After selecting the date and time, click Confirm.

Step 4: Schedule the Post

Once the time is confirmed, the normal Post button should change to Schedule. Click Schedule to add the post to your queue.

That is it. The post will stay scheduled until the selected time arrives, then X will publish it automatically.

How to Manage Scheduled Posts on X

Plans change. You may need to fix a typo, update a link, move a post to another time, or remove it completely.

To find scheduled posts, open X and look for More in the left-side menu. From there, choose Scheduled Posts. You should see the posts waiting in your queue and can edit, reschedule, or delete them.

If you schedule content often, it helps to review the queue once a day. This prevents outdated posts from going live after news changes, product details shift, or a campaign ends.

When Scheduling Posts Is Useful

Scheduled posts are especially helpful when:

  • You want to post during peak hours but will be offline.
  • You manage more than one X account.
  • You are planning a product launch, announcement, or content series.
  • You want a steadier posting rhythm without writing in real time every day.
  • You need to prepare posts before travel, meetings, or time away from work.

Scheduling does not replace real interaction. Replies, comments, and breaking news still need human attention. But it does make routine publishing easier to manage.

Final Thoughts

Scheduling posts on X is a simple feature, but it can make your account feel more consistent without adding more work to your day. Write the post, choose the calendar icon, set the time, and confirm it.

Used carefully, scheduled posts help you stay visible while giving you more control over your time. Just remember to review your queue regularly and avoid scheduling content that may become outdated quickly.
